Belize participated in the 1996 Summer Olympics for the seventh time in the Summer Olympics. The team consisted of five athletes, two of whom were men and three women. They started in five competitions in two sports. The youngest participant was the athlete Kawan Lovelace at 20 years and 28 days, the oldest was Eugène Muslar , who also started in athletics, at 37 years and 130 days. The flag of Belize was carried into the Olympic Stadium by Eugène Muslar at the opening ceremony on July 19, 1996.
