Ghana took part in the 1996 Summer Olympics in the US metropolis of Atlanta with 35 athletes, two women and 33 men, in 15 competitions in four sports.

It was Ghana's ninth participation in the Summer Olympics since 1952 .

Flag bearer

Boxer Tijani Moro carried the flag of Gambia during the opening ceremony on July 19 at the Centennial Olympic Stadium .

Attendees

The youngest participant in Ghana was the football player Christian Saba at 17 years and 205 days, the track and field athlete Francis DoDoo was the oldest at 36 years and 105 days.
