Augustine Ahinful (born November 30, 1974 in Accra ) is a former Ghanaian football player .

Career

society

Ahinful began his professional career in 1992 with Ashanti Gold , where he was also the top scorer of the 1992/93 season. After his performance at Ashanti Gold, Borussia Dortmund noticed him and signed him in 1993, but he was never used in the first team there. He then played for various clubs in Europe.

Career in Turkey

Ahinful had his most successful time at MKE Ankaragücü , where he played 103 games and scored 44 goals in a total of six years. In the 2001/02 Süper Lig season he scored 19 goals for Ankaragücü and was third in the scorers list, with his goals he made a significant contribution to the fact that the club from the capital was able to reach fourth place. In 2003 he moved to the eight-time champion Trabzonspor , but could not assert himself there and moved back to Ankaragücü in 2005. There he played another three years, but could no longer build on his old achievements. In 2008 he ended his career.

National team

Ahinful played 19 times for the Ghanaian national team . With his home country, he took part in the 1993 Junior World Cup , the 1996 Summer Olympics and the 2000 African Cup of Nations.
