The Niger took at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta for the seventh time at Summer Olympics in part. The team consisted of three athletes, two men and one woman. They started in three competitions in athletics. The youngest participant was Rachida Mahamane with 14 years and 336 days, the oldest was Abdou Manzo with 37 years. Manzo was given the honor of carrying the flag of Niger into the Olympic Stadium during the opening ceremony on July 19, 1996.
