The Yemen participated in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta for the second time at Summer Olympics in part. The team consisted of four male athletes. They started in four competitions in two sports. The youngest participant was the athlete Saeed Basweidan at 19 years and 33 days, the oldest was Mohamed Al-Saadi at 28 years and 217 days, who also started in athletics. The wrestler Abdullah Al-Izani carried the flag of Yemen into the Olympic Stadium during the opening ceremony on July 19, 1996.
