Equatorial Guinea participated in the 1996 Summer Olympics in the US metropolis of Atlanta with five athletes, four men and one woman, in five competitions in one sport.

Since 1984 it was the fourth participation of the African state in the Summer Olympics .

Flag bearer

Track and field athlete Gustavo Envela carried the flag of Equatorial Guinea during the opening ceremony on July 19, 1996 at the Centennial Olympic Stadium .

Medals

The five athletes could not win any medals. All of them did not qualify for the respective intermediate runs through their preliminary runs.

Attendees

The youngest participant was Ponciano Mbomio at 20 years and 136 days, the oldest was Juliana Obiong at 30 years and 65 days.
