Bosnia and Herzegovina took part in the 1996 Summer Olympics in the US metropolis of Atlanta with nine athletes, two women and seven men, in twelve competitions in seven sports.

Since 1992 it was the second participation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Summer Olympic Games .

Flag bearer

Track and field athlete Islam Ðugum carried the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the opening ceremony on July 19 at the Centennial Olympic Stadium .
