Soso Liparteliani (born February 3, 1971 in Chopuri , municipality of Lentechi , Ratscha-Letschchumi and Lower Vanetia ) is a former Georgian judoka . Until 1996 he competed in the light middleweight (up to 78 kg).

Liparteliani won the World Cup in Tbilisi in 1992 and 1993. At the European Championships in 1993 he reached the final and was defeated there against the French Darcel Yandzi . After he had won the international tournament in Moscow in 1995, he finished seventh at the 1995 World Championships after losing to the Israeli Shay-Oren Smadga and the Serbian Dragomir Radulovič .

At the 1996 Olympic Games, Liparteliani lost in his second fight against the South Korean Cho In-chul . In the round of hope he played four fights, all of which he won through Ippon , and received bronze medals as did Cho In-chul.

At the European Team Championships in 1996, three months after the Olympic Games, Liparteliani competed in the middleweight division (up to 86 kg) and took third place with the Georgian team. 1997 Liparteliani, also in the middleweight division, won the World Cup tournament in Moscow and took second place in Tbilisi. At the European Championships in 1999 he was defeated in the second round against Nuno Delgado from Portugal, after three wins in the hope round he lost the battle for bronze against the French Djamel Bouras and finished fifth in the weight class up to 81 kg.
