Croatia senta team of 13 athletes who competed in five different disciplinesto the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, USA .
The country was represented at a Winter Olympics for the fourth time. The ski racer Janica Kostelić , who was also the flag bearer at the opening ceremony, won three gold and one silver medal and was the most successful participant in the games after the Norwegian biathlete Ole Einar Bjørndalen . In the medal table, the country was 12th. With skier Ana Jelušić , who was 15 years and 55 days old at her competition, Croatia also had the youngest athlete in the starting field.
