Höhmannsberg is a court in the south of the Bergisch city ​​of Solingen .

Höhmannsberg is located on a mountain nose between the Nacker Bach in the west and the Weinsberger Bach in the east, south of Kohlsberg in the Solingen district of Höhscheid . Both streams flow south at the Haasenmühle and the Wipperkotten into the Wupper , which forms the city limits to Leichlingen there . The Oelmühle and Hofschaft Wippe are also to the south . To the west are Schirpenbruch , Holzhof and Gillich . In the east are first the Schmidtskotten, then the Hofschaft Vormeiswinkel and the Strupsmühle . In the north are Kohlsberg, Brachen and Brücke .

The name of the farm is derived from the family name Höhmann.

history

The first written mention of the place can be found in 1715 in the map Topographia Ducatus Montani , Blatt Amt Solingen , by Erich Philipp Ploennies , where he is listed with a farm and named as Hiemansberg . He belonged to the Höhscheid Honschaft within the Solingen office. The topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 lists the place as Höhmansberg, as does the Prussian first survey of 1844. The place is also listed as Höhmansberg in the topographical map of the Düsseldorf administrative district from 1871 .

After the establishment of the Mairien and later mayor's offices at the beginning of the 19th century, Höhmannsberg belonged to the Höhscheid mayor's office , there in corridor VII. ( Height ). In 1815/16 there were 29 people living in the Höhmannsberg, known as the hamlet , in 1830 34 people . In 1832 the place was still part of the Höhscheid Honschaft within the mayor's office of Höhscheid. The place, which was categorized as a court town according to the statistics and topography of the administrative district of Düsseldorf , had four residential buildings and eight agricultural buildings at that time. In 1895 the district had six houses with 41 inhabitants and belonged to the Catholic parish Rupelrath , in 1905 five houses and 48 inhabitants are given.

With the town union of Groß-Solingen in 1929, the Höhmannsberg court became a district of Solingen. Since 13 January 1988 is of historic half-timbered houses , the building Höhmann Mountain 8 in under monument protection .
