House Kirschheide is a listed villa in Solingen - Höhscheid .

The house is located at Neuenhofer Straße 36 in a park with old trees. The freestanding, two-storey plastered building set back from the street was built for the merchant JA Knecht in typical early classicist forms with plait style elements and late Baroque reminiscences from 1782 to 1785 . The building, which is covered with a hipped roof, has ashlar structures and a central entrance projection crowned by a triangular gable ; the stairwell is located in the rear, strongly protruding central projection.

The steel merchant Knecht used the building as a residential and commercial building. After 1815 it became the official seat of the Prussian district administrator for 15 years. In 1920 the Felix family of manufacturers acquired the Kirschheide house and had it renovated. The next major renovation came from the city of Solingen, which had bought the house in 1967 and initially wanted to tear it down. Since 1993 the registry office of the city of Solingen has been housed in the house.
