Puerto Rico took part in the 1960 Summer Olympics in the Italian capital, Rome, with a delegation of 27 athletes, 26 men and one woman, in 13 competitions in six sports.
Since 1948 it was Puerto Rico's fourth participation in the Summer Olympics .
The youngest athlete was swimmer Robert Chenaux at 16 years and 276 days , the oldest athlete was Xavier Zequeira (53 years and 127 days).
Flag bearer
Basketball player Toñín Casillas carried the flag of Puerto Rico during the opening ceremony in the Olympic Stadium .
