Bohdan Kazimierz Gonsior (born February 16, 1937 in Chorzów ) is a former Polish sword fencer .

successes

Bohdan Gonsior was world champion with the team in Gdansk in 1963 and vice world champion in Ankara in 1970 . In 1966 in Moscow he secured bronze in the individual. He took part in the Olympic Games four times : in 1960 he was eliminated in the preliminary round of the individual in Rome and finished ninth with the team. Four years later he was in Tokyo in the individual and with the team fifth. At the Olympic Games in Mexico City in 1968 he reached the battle for third place with the Polish team, in which Germany was defeated 9: 6. Together with Bohdan Andrzejewski , Kazimierz Barburski , Henryk Nielaba and Michał Butkiewicz , Gonsior received the bronze medal. He finished the individual competition in ninth place. In 1972 he was eliminated from the singles in the quarter-finals in Munich . In the team competition he was sixth. Gonsior won the Polish championship with the sword in 1964, 1970 and 1973.
