The Czechoslovakia took part in the Summer Olympics in 1980 in Moscow with a delegation of 209 athletes (162 men and 47 women) in 114 competitions in 21 sports part.

The Czechoslovakian athletes won two gold, three silver and nine bronze medals, with which Czechoslovakia took 13th place in the medal table. Olympic champions were the weightlifter Ota Zaremba in the 1st heavyweight division and the men's soccer team. The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the wrestler Vítězslav Mácha .
