The Czechoslovakia took part in the 1972 Winter Olympics in the Japanese Sapporo with a delegation of 41 athletes, 37 men and four women, in part.

Since 1924 it was the eleventh participation of Czechoslovakia in the Winter Olympic Games .

Flag bearer

Ski jumper Jiří Raška carried the flag of Czechoslovakia during the opening ceremony in the Makomanai Stadium .

Medals

With a won gold and two bronze medals, the Czech team finished 12th in the medals table .
