Career

After taking third place at the ski flying world championship in 1973 and winning bronze, he became world champion on the hill at Kulm in 1975 . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1974 in Falun , Sweden , he took sixth place in jumping from the large hill. In the following winter he reached fourth place in the Four Hills Tournament 1974/75 - his best placement in this competition. In 1975 he was voted Sportsman of the Year in Czechoslovakia.
