Leoš Škoda (born May 1, 1953 in Liberec ) is a former Czechoslovakian ski jumper .

Career

Škoda took part in the Four Hills Tournament annually from 1971 . He achieved his best result at the Four Hills Tournament 1978/79 when, after good jumping - including two top 10 placings in Oberstdorf and Bischofshofen - he finished 6th in the overall tournament ranking.

At the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck , where he was the youngest athlete in the Czechoslovak team at the age of 18, Škoda reached 26th place on the large hill.

In 1979, Škoda was on the national team for the newly created ski jumping World Cup . In the first jumping as part of the Four Hills Tournament 1979/80 he was unsuccessful.

At the Olympic Winter Games in 1980 he was again in the squad of Czechoslovakia and reached 22nd place in jumping on the normal hill and 21st on the normal hill.

After the Olympic Winter Games, he was able to finish the season successfully with an 11th place. The following World Cup season in 1980/81 was very successful for Škoda. After winning points in most jumping competitions, he reached 33rd place in the overall World Cup at the end of the season. In addition, he was able to achieve the best individual result of his career in the ski jumping World Cup with the 8th place in the jumping season in Harrachov . He jumped the last regular World Cup competition in his home town of Liberec, where he finished 9th.

In 1982, Škoda took to ski flying again on the Kulm and achieved another World Cup point in 15th place. After the competition, Škoda ended his active ski jumping career.
