Bohuslav Šťastný

Bohuslav Šťastný (born April 23, 1949 in Chotěboř , Czechoslovakia ) is a former ice hockey player . For many years he played in the Czechoslovak extra league for Tesla Pardubice and the Czechoslovak national team on the left wing .

Career

Bohuslav Šťastný graduated during his time in the top division of Czechoslovakia 504 league games in 15 seasons for Tesla Pardubice. Despite being a more defensive striker, he scored 241 goals in the process. In 1973 he won the Czechoslovak championship with Pardubice . At the end of his career, Šťastný received permission to move to a western country. Together with Vladimír Martinec he moved to ESV Kaufbeuren , for which he and Martinec played until 1985 and there resigned from active sport.

In addition to his successes at club level, Eduard Novák also had great successes in international championships. With the Czechoslovak men's selection , he won two medals at the Olympic Winter Games and six medals at world championships . He received his first appointment to the national team for the ice hockey world championship in 1971 (winning the silver medal) and from then on he regularly took part in the world championship. A year later he was appointed to the squad for the 1972 Winter Olympics and won the bronze medal. 1976 followed another Olympic participation, in which he won the silver medal with the Czechoslovak selection. In the same year he was also a member of the ČSSR squad at the Canada Cup . In the national jersey, he scored 73 goals in 188 international matches for Czechoslovakia.
