The Bad Oeynhausen Süd station ( Category 6 ) is a former railway station and today breakpoint in the Westphalian spa town of Bad Oeynhausen in the Minden-Lübbecke on the railway wages - Hameln - Hildesheim ( Weser Railway ).

Plant and importance

Former reception building

The Bad Oeynhausen Süd train station, opened in 1875, is located south of the city center and the spa gardens. It is connected to Bad Oeynhausen train station, also known colloquially as “Nordbahnhof” or “Hauptbahnhof”, by the approximately 800-meter-long Bahnhofstrasse. It is located in the vicinity of the Bad Oeynhausen Heart and Diabetes Center , the local location of the Mühlenkreiskliniken and the thermal brine bath "Bali-Therme".

While the station was still a regular long-distance traffic stop from the beginning of the 20th century until the 1970s, after some dismantling measures it only has one platform on a through track and is therefore an operational stop . This platform was created in 1910 when the line was expanded to double as an island platform. The northern track towards Löhne and the adjacent siding were removed in 1993, so that this platform is now at ground level and accessible for the disabled. The previously existing underpass to the platform was closed. All northern loading and stabling tracks, including the loading ramp, as well as the southern tracks at the railway maintenance depot, which was closed in 1976, were also removed. In the Grade II listed former reception building there are today different service providers and a bakery with restaurant business.

West of the station there was a siding to the thermal power station of the state bath.

The traffic connections from the direction of Südstadt and Lohe are via Weserstraße and Detmolder Straße. One city bus and one minibus line each serve the clinic area, the city center, Südstadt, Lohe and Rehme . Due to the fact that city bus traffic is oriented towards the central train station or ZOB, there are no direct bus connections at the southern train station.

service

The station is served by the RB 77 " Weser-Bahn ". The transport services are provided by the NordWestBahn . Be used Alstom Coradia LINT -Dieseltriebwagen.
