The list of flowing waters in the Ruhr river system deals with the tributaries and partial outflows of the Ruhr .

The most important tributaries according to their amount of water
The following is the MQ balance of the seven most water-rich, almost 80% (60.5 of the Ruhr inflows at the Mülheim gauge: 76.3 m³ / s) (see here for the data ):
It can be seen in particular that the Lenne , despite a catchment area only about two thirds as large (1352.2 km² vs. 2088.9 km²), brings about the same amount of water to the union with the Ruhr as it does itself. More than half of its total water flows into the Ruhr in Lenne and Volme within a distance of only 5 km .
In the upper reaches, the negroes also bring a comparable amount and the Hillebach more water than the Ruhr below. There are no level values for either.

It is noticeable in this context that the MQ of the Ruhr rises by only 1.7 m³ / s between the Bachum and Villigst gauges, although the Hönne, which only takes up about half of the additional catchment area, already delivers over 3.6 m³ / s. This is due to the withdrawal , in particular by the withdrawal of cooling water, which at the Villigst gauge alone is almost 4 m³ / s on a long-term average, and a total of 8 m³ / s up to the mouth of the Ruhr.
