The dating of the first documentary mention is unclear. 1193 or 1207 are possible. At that time, the abbess Jutta from the women's monastery in Meschede left the Wetterhof to the Wedinghausen monastery near Arnsberg. This also included the two farms of Obereimer and Niedereimer. There were also a few other farms. The farm Karthaus was first mentioned in 1191 and was initially Hüsten and was the seat of the noble family of Carthaus later the Archbishop of Cologne lehnspflichtig . Today the plant is a forester's house of the Barons von Fürstenberg. The Hüster Hof, the Wulfs Hof, the Klauke Hof and the Sinn'sche Hof were just as old. With this was enfeoffed in the middle of the 13th century by the Cologne Elector Dietrich von Ketteleler (an ancestor of the Courland dukes ). A Varenhagen farm was just as old, but perished in the course of the Soest feud .

The Bienstein court chapel was built in 1885 . The inauguration took place in 1886 by Pastor Schmidt. In 1920 the chapel was used for Sunday masses, baptisms and weddings. Before the listed chapel was renovated in 1986, it served as a parish library, youth room and storage room for church furniture. After a two-year renovation period, the chapel was reopened in 1988 with a solemn May service.

On January 1, 1975, Niedereimer was incorporated into the city of Arnsberg.

Description:

The colors blue and silver refer to the former sovereign, the Count of Arnsberg. The tree is reminiscent of a natural monument, the "thick oak" that burned down in August 1923. The wave bar symbolizes the location of the place between the rivers and streams Ruhr, Wanne and Kettlerbach. The official approval was given on December 4, 1962.

The tub flows through the place .

Thick oak

A natural monument that was also included in the village coat of arms was a thick oak allegedly more than a thousand years old , which at the beginning of the 20th century was the third largest oak in the German Empire. At man height it was nine meters in circumference. The tree was in 1853 by King Friedrich Wilhelm IV. In the company of the future Emperor I. Wilhelm sought. In 1923, the tree fell victim to a fire.

traffic

The Ruhr valley in the Niedereimer area is accessed via the former federal highway 7 . In addition, a road leads through the valley of the Wanne towards Breitenbruch in the Arnsberg Forest. From there the Möhnesee can be reached. Directly on the border to Obereimer there is a driveway to the A 46 , over which the B 7 also runs. The motorway runs north of Niedereimer past the village and spans the Wanne valley by a bridge.

economy

Niedereimer was dominated by agriculture well into the 19th century. Even after the start of industrialization in the neighboring communities of Bruchhausen and Hüsten , there were no major company foundations. Many of the residents lived as commuters into the 20th century. Essentially only after the Second World War, large industrial areas were designated east and west of the local area. Numerous larger car dealers, trading companies or freight forwarders are concentrated there today. In addition, there are larger commercial companies such as A + E Keller Umformtechnik or Trio-Leuchten.
