The Sauerland Uentrop is a district of the town of Arnsberg with 318 inhabitants.

Uentrop has an area of 8.91 km². In 1961 there were 324 residents. The place was first mentioned in a document in 1207 as Mark Unnentrop (lower village), belonging to the Wedinghausen monastery . In the Middle Ages there were eight large farms in the village. In 1824 a large part was destroyed by fire. At times in the 19th century mining was carried out in the Caspari antimonite mine (also known as the Caspari colliery ). After mining was abandoned, agriculture dominated until the 20th century. The St. Joseph Chapel was built in 1858 and expanded in 1925.

On January 1, 1975 Uentrop was incorporated into the city of Arnsberg.

Uentrop is opened up for supraregional traffic by the motorway connection 66 Arnsberg-Ost (formerly Arnsberg-Uentrop) of the federal motorway 46 . The motorway is carried out through the Uentrop motorway tunnel over a length of 200 m below the village. Federal highway 7 ran through the town until the autobahn was built . The through-town is now known as L 735.

The emblem of the Uentrop Rifle Club became the coat of arms of the place. The coat of arms is divided diagonally from the left by a blue wavy bar, two spruce trees are depicted in green in the upper field, the lower field shows, in silver, a miner's lamp as a symbol for the earlier mining in the Caspari colliery. The wavy bar refers to the Ruhr , the spruces to the local agriculture and forestry .

In Uentrop there is only one active and registered club, the Uentrop e. V. However, other interest groups were formed, e. For example, the Osterfeuer interest group , which sets up the Easter fire every year , and ZEBRA , which organizes various activities such as hikes and bike tours and offers computer courses for senior citizens in the old school in Uentrop.
