Völlinghausen is a district of the municipality Möhnesee in the district of Soest , North Rhine-Westphalia . The place is on Kreisstraße 8 at the beginning of the Möhnesees . The Möhne flows here through the Erlenbruch nature reserve . It is 5.8 km east and 0.4 km south of the central village of Körbecke .

history

The manor Völlinghausen stands on the northern outskirts . It belonged to the rural community Völlinghausen in the office of Körbecke. Johann von Aldenbreckerfeld, Lord of Völlinghausen, was mentioned in a document in 1422. His grandson Heinrich sold the estate to Gerhard von Wallrawe in Soest in 1517 with the consent of his liege lord, Hermann von Rump zur Wenne . His descendant, Dietrich von Wallrawe, Herr zu Völlinghausen, died in Dortmund in 1650 . The estate went from the Wallrawen to the Affelmann family and from them to the Schade family. After the Schades died out, the heirs of Wrede and von Berswordt sold the property to Florens von Krane zu Brockhusen, who then ceded it to Johann Gottfried von Dolphus (* 1644; † 1706). His descendants are the von Bockum-Dolffs family (proper: von Bockum gen. Dolffs ).

Todays situation

The Heidberg primary school with around 90 students is attended by students from the districts of Brüllingsen , Ellingsen and Wamel .

In the 1960s, a wildlife park was created above the Möhnesees lake, which for the most part consists of a large game reserve. The enclosure is equipped with red and sika deer and fallow deer occupied. Quail , songbirds, pheasants and various fowl live in aviaries and cages at the entrance to the park . A pond is populated by different species of ducks.

A sewage treatment plant of the Ruhrverband that works according to the activated sludge process is on the outskirts.

On July 1, 1969, Völlinghausen was incorporated into the municipality of Möhnesee.
