The Glassmecke is a 6.2 km long and orographically right tributary of the Ruhr in the urban area of Meschede in the Hochsauerlandkreis , North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

The brook running in the Hochsauerland rises at a height of 540 m above sea level. NHN in the Erlenbruch nature reserve on the upper Glasmeckesiepen on Landstrasse 856 around 200 m north of the Meschede telecommunications tower .
It flows through the town of Enste and flows into the nature reserve Ruhrtal near Laer near Laer Castle at an altitude of 368 m above sea level. NHN from the right into the adjacent Ruhr.
Their 6.2 km long run ends about 172 meters below their source, so it has an average bed gradient of 28 ‰.
Catchment area
The 7.38 km² catchment area of the Glassmecke is drained to the North Sea via the Lenne, Ruhr and Rhine rivers.
It borders
- in the northeast to that of the Hirschberger Bach , which drains over the Schorenbach , the Wester , the Möhne into the Ruhr
- in the east to that of the Große Steinmecke , which flows into the Gebke (Meschede) tributary to the Ruhr , and to that of the Kleiner Gebke , which also flows into the Ruhr
- in the southwest to that of the Ruhr tributary Grügelbach
- in the northwest to that of the Gebke , which flows into the Ruhr near Wennemen
- and in the north to that of the Bermecke , which flows into the Lottmannshardbach tributary Wackermecke and that of the Bermecke , which drains over the Lottmannshardbach and the Heve into the Möhne.
Tributaries
A few short streams flow to the Glassmecke from the surrounding heights. The largest tributaries are the Linsemecke and the Galliläabach.
