Matthias P. Gibert

Matthias P. Gibert (* 1960 in Königstein im Taunus ) is a French author of German-language crime novels .

Life

Matthias P. Gibert grew up in the Taunus. He completed a commercial apprenticeship and then built up a motorcycle business, from which he retired in 1993 to conduct seminars in business administration. He also developed a concept for preventing depression.

In 2007 his debut novel was published by Gmeiner-Verlag . This was followed by new novels with the fictional inspector Paul Lenz, whose plot is always set in and around Kassel , every six months or so . The novels are characterized by their current topics and realistic descriptions of places. Matthias P. Gibert has been a full-time author since 2009.

Gibert's first five crime novels reached a circulation of over 40,000 pieces. His tenth book Höllenqual was nominated for the "Bloody Cover Award 2013".

In September 2018, a Molotov cocktail exploded in front of the writer's house . Since leaflets with the picture of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the Turkish flag were found at the crime scene and Gibert's recently published novel Tödlicher Orders dealt with the murder of the Turkish secret service MIT of a German Turk who was critical of the government , Gibert was placed under police protection.

Matthias P. Gibert is married and lives in Kassel .
