history

The place, which originally belonged to the Groppendorf parish , was first mentioned between 1051 and 1076 as Brumbei in a donation from the Berge monastery . In a papal document from Innocent III. In 1209 the place is called Brumbeie and in 1268 Archbishop Conrad von Magdeburg mentions it as Brumboy . In the Halberstadt fiefdom directory, Heinrich Schenk von Dönstedt is named as the owner of a hoof in Brumbuge in 1311 . In the middle of the 15th century the place fell desolate; In 1480, in addition to those from Veltheim zu Alvensleben, those from Alvensleben and von Schenk were enfeoffed. After the Veltheim branch died out in 1615, those of Asseburg succeeded them in 1616. During the Thirty Years War , the unprotected place fell victim to repeated looting and in 1661 a major fire. The canon Johann Friedrich von Arnstedt bought it in 1665. Under Philipp Christian von Arnstedt, an estate chapel was inaugurated in 1712. The von Arnstedt inherited the estate to the Order of St. John in the 19th century . The manor house became a home for the Johanniter Sisters and after the Second World War a home for the Neinstedt institutes . After the reunification it became the seat of the Johannitergut Brumby.

On September 30, 1928, the Brumby manor from the Neuhaldensleben district was combined with the rural community of Nordgermersleben. With the incorporation of Nordgermersleben into the municipality of Hohe Börde on January 1, 2010, the district of Brumby became part of the newly created village of Nordgermersleben and the municipality of Hohe Börde.

The Nordgermersleben biogas plant operated by 15 farmers has existed in the village since 2012 . On the "Elfenwiese", the Niederndodeleber Holunderkontor planted the first elderberry plantation on the Magdeburg Börde.
