Niederndodeleben is a district of the unified municipality of Hohe Börde in the Börde district in Saxony-Anhalt . Until January 1, 2010, Niederndodeleben was an independent municipality that was administered by the Hohe Börde administrative association.

Niederndodeleben is located in the Magdeburg Börde about nine kilometers west of the city center of Magdeburg . Surrounding towns are Irxleben in the north, the Magdeburg districts of Neu Olvenstedt , Diesdorf and Sudenburg in the east, Ottersleben in the southeast, Hohendodeleben in the south, Domersleben and Klein Rodensleben in the southwest and Wellen in the west.

The state road L 49 runs through Niederndodeleben from Dreileben to Magdeburg. The Magdeburg-Braunschweig railway , where Niederndodeleben has a stop, runs south of the village . Other traffic routes in the district of Niederndodeleben are the federal highway 1 from Helmstedt to Magdeburg, the federal highway 2 from Hanover to Berlin and the federal highway 14 from Dahlenwarsleben to Leipzig . The Magdeburg intersection (A 2 / A 14) and the Magdeburg-Stadtfeld junction on the A 14 are also in the district.

history

On September 21, 937, the first documentary mention is in a deed of gift of Otto I to the Mauritius monastery . At that time this community was called Dudolon . In the course of time, the names continued to change.

The former fortified church of St. Peter and Paul dates from the Romanesque period . Original parts of the organ that Heinrich Compenius the Younger built in 1611 are still in the present work.

In the second half of the 12th century, construction of the St. Stephanus church began in the village of Schnarsleben, which was an independent village until July 1, 1950 .
