history
The center of the village is the Sankt-Petri-Kirche, which was mentioned in a document as early as 1418. Initially built in the Romanesque style, it was later given a baroque vault. In the past, rich farmers lived in Ochtmersleben. Sugar beet cultivation in particular brought the village a certain wealth in centuries past. Evidence of this are large house and courtyard rooms, which, however, were neglected to a considerable extent after the Second World War .
On July 1, 1950, Ochtmersleben was incorporated into Eichenbarleben. On May 1, 1984, the place regained its independence. On January 1, 2010, the previously independent communities of Ochtmersleben, Ackendorf , Bebertal , Eichenbarleben , Groß Santersleben , Hermsdorf , Hohenwarsleben , Irxleben , Niederndodeleben , Nordgermersleben , Schackensleben and Wellen merged to form the new community of Hohe Börde.
