geography

The brooks Schrote , Beber , Olpe, the small and large Sülze and the Brumbyer Bach flow through the area . Large parts of the municipality are located in the Magdeburg Börde .

Neighboring communities

In the north are the district town of Haldensleben and the community of Niedere Börde . To the northeast is the municipality of Barleben . The state capital Magdeburg borders in the east, the city of Wanzleben-Börde and the municipality of Eilsleben lie in the south , and Erxleben , Altenhausen and Süplingen extend from southwest to northwest .

Localities

history

The unified community was created on January 1, 2010 from the administrative community Hohe Börde . The administrative association represents the amalgamation of the administrative association Hohe Börde, which has existed since 1994, with the administrative association Nördliche Börde , whereby the name Hohe Börde was retained. Since January 1, 2010, the former municipalities of Rottmersleben and Bornstedt have been co-administered by the unified municipality, and on September 1, 2010 they were incorporated into the municipality of Hohe Börde.

The protected cultural monuments of the municipality are listed in the local register of monuments.

René Stürmer (BfW) was elected chairman of the municipal council. His first deputy is Jürgen Kebernik (CDU), his second deputy is Kerstin Frenzel (AFD).

The mayor is another member of the municipal council.

The full-time mayor of the community is Steffi Trittel. Incumbent Steffi Trittel (independent) was confirmed in office in September 2016 with 81.9% of the votes, while competitor Martin Reichardt (AfD) received 18.1 percent. The turnout was 33.8 percent.

The coat of arms was approved by the district on February 19, 2010.

Blazon : "In green a silver post covered with a black thread, on the right a golden tower with stairs, black door opening and two black window openings, on the left a golden sheaf of six ears of wheat."

The colors of the municipality are - derived from the main motifs and the shield color of the coat of arms - gold (yellow) - green.

In the constituent meeting of the municipal council on January 21, 2010 it was decided to continue the coat of arms of the dissolved administrative community Hohe Börde.

The green shield , a symbol of the fertility of the Magdeburger Börde , in which the municipality of Hohe Börde is located, summarizes the main symbols from the former coats of arms of the administrative communities Hohe Börde (the Bismarck tower) and Nördliche Börde (sheaf made up of six ears of wheat ). At the same time, the golden tower stands for the name Hohe and the golden ears for Börde. The silver pole symbolizes the federal highway 2 , which runs through the area and affects many places.

The coat of arms was designed by the Magdeburg heraldist Ernst Albrecht Fiedler .

The municipality of Hohe Börde is located with the stops Ochtmersleben , Wellen (b Magdeburg) and Niederndodeleben on the Braunschweig – Magdeburg railway line . The Ackendorf , Schackensleben and Nordgermersleben stops were on the Haldensleben – Eilsleben railway line , which has now been closed . The Bebertal station was at the junction of the Haldensleben – Weferlingen railway line .

BördeBus Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH operates several bus routes in the community. The main destination is the state capital Magdeburg, but also the district town of Haldensleben and the city of Oschersleben.
