coat of arms

The coat of arms was approved on May 10, 1996 by the Magdeburg Regional Council.

Blazon : "Divided by gold and blue by a sloping left-hand bar in confused colors, top right a blue cow head turned to the left, bottom left a golden halberd."

The design of a coat of arms documentation for the municipality of Bülstringen was commissioned in consultation with the administrative community in October 1995 to the Magdeburg heraldist Jörg Mantzsch, in order to have an official heraldry in the seal, possibly on the flag of the municipality and in other use to use the approved coat of arms as the emblem of the town.

Bülstringen had no officially approved coat of arms until now. There is also no known historical seal of the village.

The municipal council decided to include a historic event from the 17th century in the newly created coat of arms. At that time there was a local war between the Bülstringers and the city of Neuhaldensleben. The citizens of Neuhaldensleben drove their cows and other grazing animals through the district of Bülstringen from time immemorial. Obviously, this was to the detriment of the community, which forbade it. A dispute broke out in that Neuhaldensleber citizens - first and foremost the mayor - were armed with cutting and stabbing weapons, which Bülstringer attacked. There were dead and numerous wounded. After complaints from both parties to their state government, the Neuhaldensleber were sentenced - the mayor even to death, which sentence was later not carried out.

As a consequence of this important matter for the municipality of Bülstringen, the districts and the right to apply were changed from the previous customary law into fixed legal forms.

In memory of this incident there is still the “Mordgraben” and the “Triftweg” near Bülstringen. Both are symbolized in the coat of arms by a blue and gold oblique left bar. The blue cow head refers to the cattle drive as the reason for the above-mentioned event; the halberd expresses the armed conflict, especially since a traditional description explicitly refers to the use of halberds as weapons against the Bülstringers.

flag

The municipality flag is striped blue and yellow with the municipal coat of arms.
