Evangelical Church in Groß Santersleben

Groß Santersleben was first mentioned in a document in 1013 as Groten-Sanderslove and was also written Groß-Sandersleben in 1742 . The name is derived from the personal name Sander . The old Saxon noble family von Sandersleben , which still exists today, comes from Santersleben.

On January 1, 2010, the previously independent communities Groß Santersleben, Ackendorf , Bebertal , Eichenbarleben , Hermsdorf , Hohenwarsleben , Irxleben , Niederndodeleben , Nordgermersleben , Ochtmersleben , Schackensleben and Wellen merged to form the new community Hohe Börde.
