The community of Schackensleben was created on October 17, 1928 through the merger of the rural community of Schackensleben with parts of the Klein-Santersleben estate and the rural community of Klein-Santersleben.

Schackensleben and Klein Santersleben are separated by the Olbe. The chimney of the former sugar factory and the dairy are characteristic of the town, the size of these farms testifies to the former economic wealth of the place. In the village there are small businesses, a day-care center and clubs such as B. the horse friends Schackensleben eV, the fire brigade club and a sports club.

On January 1, 2010, the previously independent communities of Schackensleben, Ackendorf , Bebertal , Eichenbarleben , Groß Santersleben , Hermsdorf , Hohenwarsleben , Irxleben , Niederndodeleben , Nordgermersleben , Ochtmersleben and Wellen merged to form the new community of Hohe Börde.

coat of arms

The coat of arms was approved on October 2, 2003 by the Magdeburg Regional Council.

Blazon : "In green a golden corrugated rod, to the right of it a golden factory chimney with a square bottom prismatic base, a prismatic chimney shaft tapering towards the top and a round, capital-like, finely structured chimney head, to the left of the corrugated rod two stumped stumped golden linden branches, each with two leaves hanging down on either side. "

The wavy ribbon symbolizes the river Olbe, which separates or connects the districts of Schackensleben and Klein Santersleben. The historic chimney as a symbol of sugar beet cultivation stands for Schackensleben. The mutilated lime tree branches stand (based on the von Veltheim coat of arms) for Klein Santersleben, in which the former castle of the von Veltheim is located. The Veltheim coat of arms is also on the patron s box of the village church. The community is also rich in linden trees. The green shield color indicates the fertility of the surrounding area.

The colors of Schackensleben are yellow - green.

The coat of arms was designed by the Magdeburg heraldist Ernst Albrecht Fiedler .

The flag is yellow - green (1: 1) striped (horizontal shape: stripes running horizontally; lengthways shape: stripes running vertically) and centered with the coat of arms.
