history
Until the church is planted
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1048. The name Bichl refers to the hill ( Bavarian : Bühel , cf. Kitzbühel and many other place names in the Bavarian language area) on which the village church of St. Georg stands (built 1751–1753 by Johann Michael Fischer ). Earlier forms of the place name are Puhil , Puhila and Bühel . Early on, Bichl was linked to Italy by a Celtic mule track , which was expanded into a Roman road in 1492 . The place was the official seat and belonged to the Benediktbeuern monastery in the Electorate of Bavaria . In 1634 almost all of the residents died of the plague . Many courtyards were uninhabited for years. Several mills , sawmills , a hammer forge and cement and brick kilns were later built along the village stream . The former imperial monastery of Benediktbeuern was once again banned from blood in 1790 , so that its possessions became part of a rulership. In 1803 the place finally became part of Bavaria in the course of secularization . In the course of the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria , today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .
19th and 20th centuries
In 1898 Bichl was connected to the Kochelseebahn , which is one of the reasons why rafting on the Loisach lost its great importance.
In 1941, 100 prisoners of war in the municipality of Bichl were forced to work in the municipality's flax factory when the railway area was being expanded, and 70 Jewish women who were transferred from the Litzmannstadt ghetto to the Dachau concentration camp .
On February 22, 1945, Bichler Bahnhof was the target of an air raid . In the afternoon, eleven allied aircraft attacked an ammunition transport from Geretsried with around 70 to 80 bombs . Three buildings were destroyed and several others were damaged. According to the local chronicle, 23 people died, the official report counts 21 dead, one missing and seven wounded.
Administrative community
The community has been part of an administrative community with Benediktbeuern since 1978 .

coat of arms
Blazon : “ Divided by blue and silver; above three two-to-one golden canopy , below on a green Bichl (hill) a green deciduous tree . "
The three crowns come from the coat of arms of the Benediktbeuern monastery, which has been used since the 17th century and which ruled the Bichl monastery until secularization in 1803. The three crowns are probably a reference to the legendary founders of the monastery, three brothers from the Huosi family. Bichl belonged to the oldest possession of the monastery, which was founded around 739/40. The tree-lined hill or Bichl gives a picture that speaks for the community name. The coat of arms has been used since 1958.
