CSU

The CSU suffered a loss of votes almost across the board and achieved 40%, the worst nationwide result in a local election since 1966; But it remained the strongest party by a clear margin ahead of the SPD. In Weiden in the Upper Palatinate , the share of the vote was almost halved. There and in Nuremberg, it had to give up its position as the strongest party to the SPD.

In all counties , however, the CSU became the strongest party.

SPD

The SPD also suffered a loss of votes and achieved its worst result in the post-war period with 22.6%. However, she was able to defend her mayorships in Munich and Nuremberg with an almost two-thirds majority .

The SPD became the strongest party in the independent cities of Munich , Nuremberg , Coburg and Weiden in the Upper Palatinate and even won an absolute majority in Fürth . In addition, it was surprisingly able to prevail for the first time since 1949 in the district election in the Munich district.

GREEN

The GREENS were among the winners of the local elections. In the district of Freising , member of the state parliament Christian Magerl managed to get into the second ballot in the district council election, which he lost. With 8.2% of the vote, the Greens achieved their best result in Bavarian local elections to date.

Groups of voters

The independent voter groups achieved an increase of 3.4% to 19.0% of the votes . This also includes those in the Association of Free Voters in Bavaria V. organized groups of voters that were not recorded separately.

FDP

The FDP received 3.8% of the vote. This is the party's best result in Bavarian local elections in 50 years.

ödp

The ödp was able to increase the number of its municipal mandates from 239 to 324. In Passau, with 15.2%, the ödp achieved its greatest election success in Germany to date at the level of the districts and urban districts.
