Herbert Mirbeth

Herbert Mirbeth (born June 6, 1948 in Hemau ) is a German politician ( CSU ). From May 1, 2002 to April 30, 2014, he was District Administrator of the Regensburg district .

Life

Mirbeth attended secondary school and trained to become a certified administrative administrator . He was the head of the municipal department at the Regensburg District Office and editor of the weekly newspaper Tangrintler Nachrichten .

In 1971 Mirbeth joined the CSU. In 1972 he was elected as the youngest city councilor in his home town of Hemau. In 1979 he took over the chairmanship of the CSU local branch in Hemau, and from 1999 to 2009 he was also district chairman of the CSU Regensburg / Land.

From 1990 to 1994 Mirbeth was mayor of the city of Hemau. In 1994 and 1998 he was directly elected in the Regensburg-Land-West constituency and thus moved into the Bavarian state parliament . From 1996 he also represented the CSU in the Regensburg district council.

On April 30, 2002, he left the state parliament prematurely after he was elected as the successor to Rupert Schmid as the new district administrator of the district of Regensburg. In the local elections in Bavaria in 2008 he was confirmed in office for a further six years. In the municipal elections in Bavaria in 2014 , Mirbeth could no longer run for the office of district administrator for reasons of age. His successor was Tanja Schweiger .

He has been an honorary citizen and former mayor of his home town of Hemau since December 20, 2018 .
