Tanja Schweiger
Tanja Schweiger (* 27. May 1978 in Regensburg ) is a German municipal and provincial politician ( CDU ) and since May 2014 District Administrator of the district Regensburg . On March 30, 2014, she was elected district administrator in the second round of the municipal elections with 60.88% of the votes. From 2008 to 2014 she was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament .
Life
Youth, training and professional career
Tanja Schweiger was born the daughter of a nurse and a bricklayer. She grew up in Pettendorf . Following her training as a bank clerk , she began studying business administration at the University of Regensburg . In parallel to her studies, she worked part-time at Deutsche Bank in Regensburg, Frankfurt am Main and Nuremberg. After completing her studies in 2005, she worked as a financial planner at Deutsche Bank AG in the Private Wealth Management department in Munich until she was elected to the state parliament .
Political career
In the local elections in March 2008, she was nominated by the Free Voters as a candidate for the office of District Administrator in the district of Regensburg , although she had no previous political experience, and only missed the runoff by about 300 votes. In addition, she won a mandate in the district council and in the Pettendorfer municipal council. In the local election on March 16, 2014, she received 43.19% of the vote and there was a runoff on March 30, 2014. In this election, Tanja Schweiger received 60.88% of the vote and was thus the new district administrator for the district of Regensburg. Her predecessor was Herbert Mirbeth . In the local elections on March 15, 2020 , she was re-elected with 68.1% of three applicants in the first ballot.
In the state elections in 2008 she was elected for the first time as one of 21 free voters in the Bavarian state parliament via the Upper Palatinate district list. She was the youngest female member of the 16th Bavarian State Parliament . In her direct voting group 304 Regensburg-Land-Ost she took second place with 11,925 first votes (20.7%). At the beginning of the legislative period she was elected by the parliamentary group of Free Voters as parliamentary manager and belongs to the council of elders of the Bavarian state parliament. On March 21, 2011, after two and a half years as Parliamentary Managing Director, she was surprisingly replaced by the Landtag member Florian Streibl in the regular new elections . She had not run again without giving a reason.
In June 2009 Tanja Schweiger was elected district chairman of the Free Voters in Upper Palatinate. She was confirmed in this office in July 2012.

Tanja Schweiger is in a relationship with Hubert Aiwanger , the federal and state chairman of the Free Voters in Bavaria and Deputy Prime Minister, and the couple has two sons.
Others
Since June 30, 2017, she has been on the board of the Lower Bavaria / Swabia district association of the Bavarian Red Cross alongside Bernd Sibler and Walter Zitzelsberger .
