Hermann Stein Maßl

Hermann Stein Maßl (born May 15, 1948 in Fridolfing ) is a German politician ( CSU ) and district administrator a. D. of the district of Traunstein.

Stein Maßl grew up on a farm. He attended the elementary school Fridolfing, the secondary school Freilassing and the University of Applied Sciences in Munich , from which he graduated in 1970 as a graduate engineer. From October 1970 to March 1972 was a conscript in the artillery in Bad Reichenhall. From 1972 to 2002 he worked in an engineering office and independently in civil engineering. He gave up his office because of his position as district administrator.

Political career

In 1972 Stein Maßl became a member of the CSU. He was JU district chairman from 1975 to 1983 . He was a local councilor (1978-2002), district councilor (from 1978), district councilor (1982-1998) and parliamentary group chairman in the district council of the Traunstein district . In the state elections in 1998 he was elected to the Bavarian state parliament. There he was a member of the committee for submissions and complaints, the committee for state development and environmental issues, the state sports advisory board and the study commission "With new energy into the new millennium". In 2002 he resigned his mandate prematurely after his election to the district administrator of the Traunstein district.

Hermann Stein Maßl was the district administrator of the Traunstein district from 2002 to 2014. He was chairman of the regional planning association for Southeast Upper Bavaria and spokesman for the regional planning associations in Bavaria. During his tenure, he was also a member of the executive committee of the Bavarian District Association and President of the EuRegio "Salzburg-Berchtesgadener Land - Traunstein". Stein Maßl was also a member of the representative assembly of the German Chamber of Engineers.

An application from Munich and the district for the 2022 Winter Olympics failed on November 10, 2013, when the necessary majority was not achieved in all four referendums. Stein Maßl commented: "At the end of my term of office I would of course have wished for such an event for the district, especially from an infrastructural point of view!"

Due to the upper age limit for full-time district administrators of 65 years, Stein Maßl was not allowed to run again in 2014.

Awards

Stein Maßl carries the municipal medal of merit in silver. In 2017 he received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for his political services .
