Carda Seidel

Carda Seidel (born October 19, 1964 in Nuremberg ) is a non-party Bavarian local politician and was Lord Mayor of the Middle Franconian city ​​of Ansbach from 2008 to 2020 .

Career

After graduating from the mathematical and scientific branch of Labenwolf Gymnasium in Nuremberg graduated Seidel study at the Bavarian officials Fachhochschule in Hof , which she as a graduate management (FH) graduated. From the mid-1990s she worked as head of the Nuremberg garbage disposal. She then worked as a staff manager for several environmental officers in the city of Nuremberg and since 2003 has been the personal assistant to the Third Mayor Klemens Gsell (CSU). At the end of 2004 she successfully passed the examination for the higher civil service.

For the mayoral election in Ansbach in March 2008 , the non-party Seidel was set up as a joint candidate of the Ansbach Non-Party Citizens' Initiative (BAP), the ÖDP and the Free Voters . There she clearly prevailed in the runoff election (with over 67%) against the incumbent Ralf Felber (SPD), who was supported by the SPD and CSU . She took office on May 1, 2008.

In the mayoral election in 2014 , she prevailed in the runoff election with 60.01% against Thomas Deffner (CSU). In the local elections in 2020 , she landed in the first ballot with 31.4% behind Thomas Deffner, against whom she ran again in a runoff election. Thomas Deffner clearly won this runoff election with 62.3 percent of the vote. Carda Seidel only got 37.7 percent.
