Roland Weigert

Roland Weigert (born March 5, 1968 in Hohenwart ) is a German politician ( free voter ). He has been a member of the Bavarian State Parliament since 2018 . On November 12, 2018, he was appointed State Secretary to the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy . Before that, he had been District Administrator of the Neuburg-Schrobenhausen district for around ten and a half years since May 1, 2008 .

With the election of his successor, the former district councilor Peter von der Grün , Weigert became a member of the district council as a successor and has been a full member of the district council of the Neuburg-Schrobenhausen district since he was sworn in on February 21, 2019.

Career

Weigert grew up in Hohenried, community of Brunnen . He graduated from the Franz von Lenbach Realschule in Schrobenhausen with a secondary school leaving certificate. He then completed an apprenticeship as a wholesale and foreign trade clerk and subsequently worked in his BayWa training company in Neuburg as an employee in the agricultural trade. On his second educational path, he passed the Abitur at the vocational school in Ingolstadt . From 1990 to 1999 he served in the career of troop officers within the Federal Air Force in various assignments, including in property protection, NBC defense, staff assignments, as well as in the training of young leaders and in testing. During this time he also studied economics and organizational sciences at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich from 1991 to 1995 with a focus on marketing and controlling and graduated with a degree in business administration .

From 1999 he was economic advisor for the district of Neuburg-Schrobenhausen and from 2006 the press spokesman for the district office. In the local elections in March 2008 he was elected in the runoff ballot on March 16, 2008 with 65.1 percent of the votes to the district administrator of the district of Neuburg-Schrobenhausen and in March 2014 in the first ballot (March 16, 2014) with 58.3 percent of the votes confirmed in office for a further six years.

On February 16, 2018, Weigert was nominated as a direct candidate for free voters in constituency 125 Neuburg-Schrobenhausen for the state election in Bavaria 2018 . He also ran for position 6 on the FW list for the constituency of Upper Bavaria. With 28.7 percent, Weigert was able to achieve the best percentual first vote result of a free voter throughout Bavaria and move into the state parliament with the fifth most votes (16,815 first and 5,349 second votes) of eight candidates elected by the free voters in Upper Bavaria.

Roland Weigert has been married since 2006 and lives in the Kleinhohenried district of Karlshulde . He is a hunter and marksman.
