The Söder II cabinet has been the 27th state government of the Free State of Bavaria since November 12, 2018 . The government is based on the coalition agreement entitled For a Citizen-Friendly Bavaria , which was signed between the CSU and the Free Voters after the state elections in Bavaria in 2018 . Markus Söder was elected Prime Minister on November 6, 2018, and the ministers of state were appointed and sworn in on November 12, 2018. Until then, the ministers of the Söder I cabinet (with the exception of Ilse Aigner , who was elected President of the Bavarian State Parliament on November 5, 2018 and thus left the state government) remained in office.
