The Haseloff II cabinet has formed the state government of Saxony-Anhalt since April 25, 2016 . The cabinet is supported by the parliamentary groups of the CDU , the SPD and Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen . For the first time since the restoration of the state of Saxony-Anhalt in 1990, three parties are actively involved in the state government .

State election and formation of a government

In the election for the 7th state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt on March 13, 2016, the government alliance of CDU and SPD lost its majority in parliament , so that the two partners who had been working together in a coalition since 2006 were dependent on the participation of a third party.

After several weeks of negotiations , a black-red-green coalition was formed, which is known in public as the " Kenya coalition" because of the colors of the parties involved . On April 24, 2016, the chairman of the national associations signed by the CDU , SPD and Alliance 90 / The Greens to reliable, equitable and sustainable - future prospects for Saxony-Anhalt titled coalition agreement . Together, the government groups have 46 mandates in the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt compared to 41 mandates in the opposition groups AfD andThe left .

In the second session of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt on 25 April 2016, the elected deputies to since 2011. Acting Prime Minister Reiner Haseloff (CDU) again for prime minister . His election was only successful in the second ballot: In the first ballot, there were 41 votes in favor, 45 against and one abstention on the nomination. In the second ballot, the required approval - 44 votes in accordance with the constitution of the State of Saxony-Anhalt - was achieved with 47 votes (with 34 votes against, three abstentions and three invalid votes). This time a member of the opposition even votedfor the election proposal of the governing parties. The nine other members of the state government appointed by the Prime Minister were then sworn in before the state parliament.
