The State Chancellery and Ministry of Culture of the State of Saxony-Anhalt is the authority that reports directly to the Prime Minister of the State of Saxony-Anhalt and supports him in defining and implementing the political guidelines vis-à-vis the ministers and in his function as the state's representative. The State Chancellery is also directly responsible for overarching tasks such as media policy, European policy, international cooperation or the preparation of conferences for heads of government from the federal and state levels.

Since April 2016, the State Chancellery has also been responsible for the field of culture and thus takes on partial tasks of the previous Ministry of Education and Culture. There had been criticism in the country of the transfer of competencies to the State Chancellery.

The seat of the State Chancellery is the Palais am Fürstenwall at Hegelstrasse 42 in Magdeburg .
