The Ministry of the Interior and Sport of the State of Saxony-Anhalt is a Ministry of the State of Saxony-Anhalt . Minister is Holger Stahlknecht .
The office at Halberstädter Straße 2 in Magdeburg was the seat of the police from its construction in 1913 until German reunification in 1990. It also served as a police prison during this time.
history
After the Second World War, there were initially no ministries. In the "Provincial Administration of Saxony" formed in 1945, President Erhard Hübener was responsible for the municipal department. In 1946 a Ministry of the Interior was founded, which existed until the state was dissolved in 1952.
With the re-establishment of the state of Saxony-Anhalt in 1990, the Ministry of the Interior was re-established. It has had its current name since 2011.
