The Ministry for Labor, Social Affairs and Integration of the State of Saxony-Anhalt (MS) is a ministry of the state government of Saxony-Anhalt . The seat is in the former pioneer barracks at Turmschanzenstrasse 25 in Magdeburg . The authority is headed by Minister Petra Grimm-Benne , with Beate Bröcker (Head of Office) and Susi Möbbeck (Integration Commissioner) assisting her as State Secretaries.

history

After the Second World War, there were initially no ministries. In the “Provincial Administration of Saxony” formed in 1945, a vice-president was responsible for “labor and social welfare”. In 1946 a ministry for labor and social affairs was established. In 1950 the "Labor" division was incorporated into the Ministry of Economic Affairs and a new Ministry for Health was formed. The ministries existed until the state was dissolved in 1952.

With the re-establishment of the state of Saxony-Anhalt in 1990, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs was re-established. In 1994 it was renamed the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs and Health and in 1998 the Ministry of Labor, Women, Health and Social Affairs . Between 2002 and 2011, the authority was called the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs , while the “Labor” area was assigned to the Ministry of Economic Affairs. In 2011 the previous assignment was restored and the ministry has had its current name since 2016.
