The Saarland Ministry for the Environment and Consumer Protection is one of seven ministries of the Saarland . The ministry has been headed by Environment Minister Reinhold Jost ( SPD ) since January 15, 2014 , while Sebastian Thul is State Secretary .

history

The Ministry of Reconstruction , which was spun off from the Ministry of the Interior in 1951, can be seen as the predecessor of the Ministry . This was dissolved in 1968, and in 1974 the current ministry was founded as the Ministry for the Environment, Spatial Planning and Construction . Since then it has changed responsibilities several times.
