The terms environmental technology , technical environmental protection or environmental protection technology are understood to mean the technical and technological processes to protect the environment as well as to restore already damaged ecosystems . These procedures are developed in the field of environmental engineering . The engineering science that deals with environmental protection technology is sometimes also called environmental technology.
