The Burghausen campus is a regional location of the Rosenheim Technical University in the Bavarian chemical triangle and was opened on October 1, 2016. The university location is best known for the interdisciplinary nature of the scientific, technical and business content.

history

The Burghausen campus was opened in the 2016/17 winter semester with a range of 3 courses. In January 2020, the Bavarian Minister for Science, Research and the Arts Bernd Sibler opened the new B-building with an Audimax . For the winter semester 2020/21, the offer will be expanded to include the environmental technology course. An advisory board made up of representatives of the following members is also involved in developing the concept:

Britta Bolzern-Konrad is the head of the institute and Philipp Keil is the deputy head of the institute.

Faculties and courses of study

The courses at the Burghausen campus are supported by the regional chemical industry . The university location is characterized by the interlocking of scientific theory with industrial practice. A dual course of study is possible with all courses offered. A semester abroad or internship abroad can be carried out through the partner universities of the Technical University of Rosenheim . All courses are interdisciplinary and designed according to the requirements of industry and digitization .

Over 300 students are currently enrolled at the Burghausen campus. Eight professors teach, who are supported by lecturers from practice.

Campus and student life

The Burghausen campus is located in the immediate vicinity of major industrial companies in the region, such as Wacker Chemie AG, OMV Deutschland GmbH, Borealis Polymers GmbH, Linde AG and Vinnolit GmbH & Co. KG. The main building on the campus includes two other buildings in which laboratories , compact systems, the technical center and the Audimax are located.

The library is available to students in cooperation with the Burghauser Stadtbibliothek , Wacker Fachbibliothek and the Technische Hochschule Rosenheim. The Children's University of the Burghausen-Burgkirchen Adult Education Center has been taking place in the Audimax of the Burghausen campus since 2020.

The Burghausen campus is involved in social projects that are summarized under the name “Third Mission”.
