The AlzChem Group AG (until September 2011 AlzChem ) is a chemical company with headquarters in the Bavarian Trostberg in the Traunstein district.

history

AlzChem has its origins in the former SKW Trostberg . It was founded in 2006.

After the former parent company RAG (later Evonik Industries ) separated construction chemicals from SKW Trostberg and sold it to BASF in order to finance the takeover of Degussa , and natural substances extraction in Münchsmünster and the NATEC plant in Trostberg were incorporated into Evonik-Degussa , the remainder of AlzChem, which mainly still produced carbide products as in the founding years, was sold to the private equity investor BluO in 2009 .

In February 2017, AlzChem wanted to go public. However, this attempt failed because it became apparent that there were not enough investors. From October 2017 the company was listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, with gross issue proceeds of 2.6 million euros. The main shareholder was Livia Corporate Development, an investment company of the investor Peter Löw . In October 2018, major shareholders Livia, HDI Vier and Four Two Na sold more than 20 million shares.

AlzChem has an annual turnover of 295 million euros with more than 1400 employees and operates four production sites in Bavaria, another in Sundsvall (Sweden) and sales sites in Atlanta (USA) and Shanghai (China). June 2012 the new silicon nitride plant in Trostberg went into operation, an investment by AlzChem for 13 million euros.
