Petra Grimm Benne (* 27. April 1962 in Wuppertal ) is a German SPD - politician . From 2002 to 2016 she was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .

Since April 25, 2016 she has been Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Labor, Social Affairs and Integration of the State of Saxony-Anhalt in the Haseloff II cabinet .

Life and work

Grimm-Benne graduated from high school in 1981. In 1991 she passed her second state examination in law . Then she was head of the legal, security and regulatory office of the Schönebeck district until 1995 .

From 1995 Grimm-Benne worked as a lawyer and from 1999 as a specialist lawyer for administrative law.

Petra Grimm-Benne is married and has two children.

Politics / party

She joined the SPD in 1988. From 2004 until the merger with other SPD district associations in 2006, Grimm-Benne was chairwoman of the SPD district association Schönebeck.

MPs

Grimm-Benne has been city councilor of Schönebeck since the local elections in 2004 (until 2006) and chairwoman of the SPD district parliamentary group in the Schönebeck district. Since 2009 she has been a councilor in the Elbe city again.

After the local election carried out by the district reform, she has been a member of the SPD district parliamentary group of the Salzland district since 2007 . She is deputy parliamentary group leader and chairwoman of the finance committee of the district council of the Salzland district.

Furthermore, Grimm-Benne is chairwoman of the SPD local association Schönebeck.

From 2002 to 2016 Grimm-Benne was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt and represented the constituency of Schönebeck . Most recently she was a member of the Social Committee. From January 2010 to 2016, she was the successor to Norbert Bischoff, Parliamentary Managing Director of the SPD parliamentary group. On May 10, 2016, Grimm-Benne announced to the Vice-President of the State Parliament of Saxony-Anhalt that she was waiving the mandate. On May 18, 2016, Nadine Hampel entered the state parliament as a substitute from the SPD's election proposal.

Public offices

After the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt in 2016 , she was appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Labor, Social Affairs and Integration of Saxony-Anhalt in the newly formed Kenya coalition by Prime Minister Reiner Haseloff (CDU).
