Stefanie Drese
Stefanie Drese (born December 9, 1976 in Rostock ) is a German politician and lawyer and has been an elected MP ( SPD ) in the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania since 2011 . Since November 1, 2016, she has been Minister for Social Affairs, Integration and Equal Opportunities for the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , initially in the Sellering III cabinet , then in the Schwesig cabinet .
biography
Stefanie Drese studied law at the University of Rostock from 1995 to 2000 . After her legal clerkship at the Regional Court of Mühlhausen from 2000 to 2002, she worked as a lawyer specializing in criminal law since 2003 .
politics
Stefanie Drese joined the SPD in 2003. From 2005 to 2009 she held the chairmanship of the local association Bad Doberan, from 2008 to 2010 also that of the district association Bad Doberan, since 2011 of the district association of Central Mecklenburg. She has been a member of the Bad Doberan district council since 2009, and since 2010 as parliamentary group leader. In the state election on September 4, 2011, she received a mandate in the Bad Doberan I state constituency . On October 24, 2011 she was elected deputy group leader. Since November 1, 2016, she has been Minister for Social Affairs, Integration and Equal Opportunities for the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
